Florida regulator fines company $107K for alleged unlicensed consumer finance lending

September 18, 2026

On September 10, the Florida Office of Financial Regulation (OFR) entered a consent order against a consumer finance company for alleged failures to obtain the required license before engaging in consumer finance lending in violation of section 516.02(1) of the Florida Statutes. The order, which arose from an examination of the company’s business records and operations, requires the company to comply with chapter 516 and its implementing rules and to pay an administrative fine of $107,250 to the OFR upon the execution of the agreement. As part of the resolution, the regulator agreed to approve the company’s pending consumer finance license application and issue the license within one business day of the final order.
