U.S. Senate confirms Kevin Warsh to serve as Fed chair

On May 13, the U.S. Senate confirmed Kevin Warsh to a four-year term as Fed chair by a vote of 54-45. As previously covered by InfoBytes, Warsh was nominated to the role by President Trump in January and is set to assume the position from the outgoing Fed chair, Jerome Powell, whose term ends this month. Following the Senate’s vote, Senate Banking Committee Chairman Tim Scott (R-SC) and House Financial Services Committee Chairman French Hill (R-AR) each released statements supporting the confirmation.
