FTC releases its 2025 National Do Not Call Registry Data Book

December 19, 2025

On December 11, the FTC released its annual National Do Not Call Registry Data Book, reporting that while complaints about unwanted telemarketing calls rose in fiscal year 2025, they remained nearly half the volume seen in fiscal year 2021. According to the report, more than 4.7 million phone numbers were added to the registry, bringing the total to approximately 258.5 million active registrations — a 1.9 percent increase from 2024. Robocalls continued to account for the majority of complaints, with topics such as reducing debt, imposters, and medical and prescription issues most frequently reported. The FTC ranked Arizona, Tennessee, Nevada, Illinois, and Florida as the top five states for complaints per 100,000 residents, while New Hampshire led in active registrations per capita.
