CFPB issues two comment requests on its forms

December 5, 2025

On November 28, the CFPB issued a notice and request for comment in the Federal Register, seeking to extend the OMB’s approval for its “Consumer Response Intake Form” information collection. The intake form enables consumers to submit complaints, inquiries and feedback. That same day, the CFPB issued a similar notice and request for comment in the Federal Register for its “Consumer Complaint Intake System Company Portal Boarding Form” required under the Dodd-Frank Act. The CFPB uses the second form to provide registered companies with access to its secure company portal, which enables firms to view and respond to consumer complaints about financial products and services.

Both notices invited written comments on the necessity and utility of the information collection, the accuracy of its burden estimates, ways to enhance the quality and clarity of the data, and methods to minimize respondent burden, including through automation technology. Comments on the former notice will be due by January 27, 2026, and comments for the latter will be due by December 29, 2025.
