OCC settles with former bank officer and drops $10M civil penalty

October 24, 2025

On October 22, the OCC finalized a consent order, settling its enforcement proceedings brought by the agency against a former bank risk officer.

The acting comptroller had issued final orders on January 14, assessing a civil money penalty which the officer had appealed to the 8th Circuit. The consent order settled all proceedings related to the notice of charges and final decision. The officer agreed to dismiss her petition for review, and the consent order replaced and superseded the final orders.

In her petition to the appellate court, the officer appealed the OCC’s final decision to assess a $10 million civil money penalty based on the officer’s misconduct related to sales practices.
