CFPB union drops one of its cases against the administration
September 25, 2025
On September 19, the union representing CFPB employees provided notice that it dismissed its case (1:25-cv-00380-RJL) against CFPB Acting Director Russell Vought, without prejudice. This was one of two cases the union filed against the administration; as previously covered by InfoBytes, the other case (1:25-cv-00381-ABJ) had enjoined the administration from dismantling the Bureau — although the administration successfully appealed the decision in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit (covered here).
