On July 15, the OCC announced that Jonathan V. Gould has taken office as the 32nd comptroller of the currency, following his nomination by President Donald J. Trump on February 11 and confirmation by the U.S. Senate on July 10. The Senate voted in favor of confirming Jonathan Gould as Comptroller of the Currency for a period of five years by a vote of 50-45.

Gould, who served previously as senior deputy comptroller and chief counsel at the OCC, succeeded Rodney E. Hood. Prior to becoming comptroller, Gould was a partner at a law firm, served in senior roles at the OCC, and twice served on the staff of the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, at one time serving as its chief counsel.
