Recently, the OCC released its Spring 2025 Interest Rate Risk Statistics Report detailing interest rate risk data gathered during examinations of OCC-supervised midsize and community banks and federal savings associations. The report, based on data from 851 banks with information ranging from March 31, 2023, to December 31, 2024, provided statistics on different bank asset classes, including those with assets ranging from less than $100 million to over $10 billion. The OCC’s analysis includes calculations of exposures and risk limits for commonly modeled target accounts in various interest rate stress scenarios, along with key non-maturity deposit assumptions for different non-maturity deposit types, establishing a range of exposures and risk limits across midsize and community banks. The report stated it should be used for informational purposes only and does not represent OCC-suggested limits of exposures.
