CFPB requests comment on its consumer complaint intake form

May 23, 2025

On May 22, the CFPB published a notice in the Federal Register requesting comments on the extension of the Consumer Complaint Intake System Company Portal Boarding Form. The Dodd-Frank Act requires the CFPB to facilitate the centralized collection of, monitoring of, and response to consumer complaints regarding consumer financial products or services. The Company Portal allows companies to view and respond to complaints submitted to the CFPB. The CFPB is inviting comments on several aspects of the information collection process, including: (i) the practical use of the information; (ii) the accuracy of the CFPB’s burden estimate; (iii) suggestions on how to enhance the quality and clarity of the information collected; and (iv) methods to minimize the burden of the collection on respondents, including through the use of automation. Comments must be received by July 21.
