On March 14, the California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA) Board announced it appointed Tom Kemp as the CPPA’s executive director, effective April 1. Kemp enters the CPPA with experience as a policy advisor, cybersecurity expert, entrepreneur, and author. He also brings experience in privacy legislation, technology policy, and consumer protection. The CPPA also noted that Kemp advised on privacy legislation, including the California Privacy Rights Act, the California Delete Act, and the California AI Transparency Act — as well as other states’ bills.
